Welcome to AISR
We all want the same things for our children.  We want them to be happy, to do the right thing, and to be successful. We want them to have meaningful friendships, to learn about themselves and the world around them, and to have the best possible future.  At the American International School of Rotterdam, we provide a high quality education that helps every student realize their full potential.  Every child has gifts; every child has talents.  It is our goal to nurture the gifts and talents of each of our students, allowing them to be the best they can possibly be.

Founded in 1959, AISR is a coeducational day school for internationally-minded expatriate and Dutch families residing in the greater Rotterdam area.  We are a family-oriented school welcoming students from all cultures and religions.  We aim to provide learning opportunities that appropriately challenge every child, allowing them to happily learn in a safe and caring environment.  Our well-qualified staff endeavors to utilize best pedagogical practices to provide students with a wide variety of opportunities for success both inside and outside the classroom.

AISR is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), which attests to the high standards of education that we are continually striving towards.  Ensuring a balance between academics, arts and athletics, we provide a variety of curricular offerings including the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP), International Primary Curriculum, (IPC), International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), Advanced Placement courses (AP), concurrent college course, and more.

In addition to the regular academic program, AISR also provides opportunities for students to participate in a number of clubs and extracurricular activities to extend and enrich a wide variety of student interests in fun ways. Opportunities exist for students to join a number of sports teams, participate in music or drama, engage in cultural activities, as well as participate in a number of other great clubs and activities that allow students to learn new skills or develop existing ones.

Thank you for considering AISR.  Please browse through our website for information on our programs and facilities.  And for a glimpse into school life, please “like” us on Facebook and “follow” us on Twitter.  The best way to get to know us, however, is to visit us.  We invite you to come to our campus and explore all that we have to offer.  Please use the links at the top of this page to schedule a visit, to register your interest, or to begin the application process.
